Notice of Public Meeting for a Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment

TAKE NOTICE a statutory public meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2025. This meeting will be held at the Municipality of North Perth office at 330 Wallace Ave North, Listowel to discuss a proposed amendment to the North Perth Zoning By-law.

PURPOSE:

The proposed amendment to the North Perth Zoning By-law has been initiated by the Municipality of North Perth to consider changes to the Zoning By-law that amend definitions and update provisions to be consistent with Provincial legislation enacted under the Planning Act and the Provincial Planning Statement, 2024. 

The proposed changes to the Zoning By-law include updates to sections affecting accessory buildings, additional residential units, yard widths, parking access, yard encroachments, and other zoning regulations. Revisions are minor in nature and serve to clarify and correct errors in the implementation of the Zoning By-law and bring conformity with the recently updated Planning Act along with consistency in terminology with the Building Code. Changes also proposed for the Housekeeping Amendment include text changes to definitions and the removal of sections considered duplicative and no longer applicable due to new Provincial legislation. These proposed changes affect Sections 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 35 within the Municipality of North Perth Zoning By-law No. 6 - ZB - 1999.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed Zoning By-law amendment is available upon request and will be shared virtually where possible. If required, arrangements can be made to have a package prepared and available for pick up at the Municipal office.
