Significant Weather Event Debrief

News - Significant Weather Event

The blizzard experienced over the holiday season was the worst on record since 1999. A significant but less severe winter weather event requiring the use of municipal warming centres was last experienced in 2016.

Staff have worked to pull together the following timeline of events and response statistics related to the Significant Weather Event.

Who provides updates?
North Perth is made up of municipal, county and provincial highways. North Perth plows are only responsible for maintaining municipal roadways.
North Perth will not report on Provincial and County roads, but rather share updates as available through official Twitter, Facebook, 511 and OPP sources.

The attached photos were submitted by our winter operators and warming centre volunteers showing the extent of the blizzard and the efforts required to keep our community safe and achieve our regular winter standard.
