Notice of a Public Meeting of Council

Take notice that on Monday, May 13, 2024, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth will hold a public meeting pursuant to Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act, 1992, S.O. 1992, c.23, as amended, in order to consider adopting a new building permit fee schedule.

Note: This shall serve as Public Notice in compliance with Section 7(6) of the Building Code Act, as amended, and Division C, Part 1, Article 1.9, Sentence 1.9.1.2 of the Ontario Building Code O. Reg. 332/12.

All interested parties are invited to attend the public meeting:

Location:    North Perth Municipal Office, Council Chambers, 330 Wallace Avenue, N. Listowel, ON N4W 1L3

Any person may attend the public meeting and/or make written representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed building permit fee schedule. Written submissions are invited and should be directed to Sarah Carter, Acting Clerk, scarter@northperth.ca no later than 4:30 PM on Wednesday May 8, 2024.  Written comments received prior to the meeting and submissions made at the public meeting will be considered by Council prior to the enactment of a new building permit fee schedule.

The Municipality of North Perth will make information available, setting out an estimate of the costs of providing building services, the proposed fees, and the rationale for imposing the fees, prior to the public meeting. Copies of the information can be viewed on the municipal website www.northperth.ca or at the Listowel Fire Hall, 620 Wallace Avenue South, Listowel ON, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:30.

It is the intent that the new building permit fee schedule will be effective upon the passing of a by-law at a future regular meeting of council.
