MEDIA RELEASE

6.29% Property Tax impact for residential properties in North Perth

North Perth, January 7, 2025 – At the North Perth Council Meeting held on Monday, January 6, 2025, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth approved the 2025 Business Plan and Consolidated Budget. The budget strategically prioritizes funding for essential municipal services, aligning with residents’ expectations for service delivery while investing in necessary current and future infrastructure and minimizing tax increases.

Property taxes paid by North Perth taxpayers reflect taxes levied by the Municipality, Perth County, and local school boards. Due to assessment shifts and growth, the 2025 median residential levy impact on the North Perth portion of the property tax bill is about 6.29% or approximately 39 cents per day.

Below is a further breakdown of the property tax impact on the median assessed residential household:

  • Wallace Park Pavilion Renovation
  • Asphalt Resurfacing

The development of the 2025 Budget emphasized public input and engagement. North Perth residents were encouraged to share their thoughts on the 2025 Budget through several channels: a Pre-Budget Survey conducted in late June 2024, Budget Meetings held from August to December 2024, and a Budget Feedback Form available in December 2024. The Council and staff of the Municipality of North Perth extend their gratitude to the public for their active role in shaping North Perth's future through the 2025 budget discussions.
