Building and Construction

The Municipality of North Perth is responsible for enforcement of the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code.  Our role is to review permit applications, issue Building Permits, and conduct building inspections.  Our goal is to assist you through the permit and inspection process to support construction projects in the community and it’s important to recognize that while the Building Department is committed to assisting you, our role does not include design or planning services for your project. All design and associated documents need to be completed and revised by professional qualified designers not the building department.  Some projects, such as a person’s own home have exemptions allowing someone to design their own project.  Please ask us for details if you are unsure about the design professional requirements on your project.
